LED strip light, TV LED backlight USB RGB 50:50 colour strip

This cheap and thin LED strip light will serve a purpose if you’re on a budget

Looking at the advert on TEMU, the LED light strip looks much the same as the ones you can purchased from local shops likes Argos, B&M, The Range, and Home Bargains for around £15. Sadly, that is where the similarities end.

If you’ve purchased  LED lights from one of the above shops you’ll soon realise why these are a fraction of the price. The lights arrive securely and well packaged in a padded envelope, with a ‘F’ grade power rating sticker thats normally seem on white goods.

The tape is ultra thin and there is not protection around it, which means they can tear quite easily. Once applied to a surface, you would have a problems removing them and reusing elsewhere in the future.

It’s not all negative. The thin tape does actually have some benefits, expectedly if you’re wanting to create light folds to create a right angle, perfect for attaching to the back of the TV, or around a headboard.

If your looking for ultra bright, these are not going to be the ones to choose due to haveing around 1/3rd of the LEDS you would find on a shop bought strip light.

Is this a TEMU scam?

The advert is a little bit misleading, but it’s certainly not a scam! You’re paying less than £2.50 for an LED strip light with free shipping, so obviously corners do need to be cut. A few honest pictures of the lights on the advert would help build customer confidence.
